Thinking of being a Careforce volunteer?
You are very important to us! We want to help you find God's plan for your gap year!
Diversity of placements

We have a huge range of different placements, doing different kinds of work, with different kinds of people, in different parts of the country. Therefore whatever way you envisage serving God there's a chance we can find a placement where they are doing just that.
Individual matching
We don't just slot you wherever it is convenient but look at your individual strengths, weaknesses and vision (or lack of it); so even if you haven't a clue what you want to do, we will work with you to find a place where God can use you. If you do know what you want to do and/or where you would like to be we will work with you to see if we can make that a reality for you.
Individual placements
Generally speaking Careforce sends volunteers to placements singly, not in teams. That doesn't mean you'll be on your own as you will be working alongside local people but you will probably be the only Careforce volunteer. Clearly this can be a more daunting task than going in as a team but the rewards are immense. For a start you will become more involved in the local community, with deeper relationships with local people and a more intense experience of grass roots church and project life. Your relationship with God will become more important to you than ever before.
You will be well looked after
The support which the Careforce staff will give you is just a small part of the whole pastoral structure which volunteers can lean on. In the first place you will have a work supervisor who is there to watch over all you are doing. You will also have a designated pastoral carer there to chat and pray. You will have a staff link on the Careforce staff, praying for you, visiting and always on the end of the phone. You will be part of an area group with other local Careforce volunteers to support each other. Careforce provide a range of other resources from conferences through to handbooks to help you through the year. Some volunteers also opt into extra study, for example the Moore Theological Training Course.
It's all about service
We are a service organization which means that our mission is to build up the local church (in its various forms) and to build you up. If your first desire is to serve God and build his kingdom then we're going to get along just fine. Join with many others and help to transform local communities in the UK through selfless service for Jesus! You can apply right now!!!
Money matters

Money matters but not as much as you do. Therefore there is no amount of money that must be raised in order to be a Careforce volunteer. What we do ask is that over the course of the year you ask people to support Careforce by sponsoring you towards a target of £1,500. How long it takes and how much or little you actually manage to raise is irrelevant. If you will have a go we will be very grateful for whatever you can raise and it will keep the show on the road until next year.
We believe it is important you discover what God intends for your gap year, and we pledge to help you do just that!
